Double speak is one of the ways they can change doctrine and still be able to make you believe that's not what they said/did. YOU must have read/gotten it wrong (you know because they're always right).

This is the biggest bunch of double speak
by heathen inhttp://www.jw-media.org/aboutjw/article11.htm#respect .
according to their history the governments have opressed and persecuted them not only that , the world ended invisibly .
just absolutely another example of the un affiliation and not condemning the evil satanic governments .

revelation 14:5
by independenthinker inso im at the memorial talk, this year though im reading above and below all scriptures.
anyway the speaker uses revelation 14, and i find a new scripture ive never seen used before by the brothers.
they always use v1-4, referring to the anointed.

Just another example of them "gleaning" their harvest of scriptures.

LOL
I also have a hard time with the fact there are too many plausible answers. My teachers would always get so angry when I said I couldn't answer a question. They would say something like "it's multiple choice choose one" to which I would reply "but there's more than one right choice". By now they’re fuming because I won't be a good little girl and conform or they don't see the other "correct" choices and are pissed because I showed them up.
Hmm sounds familiar, where have I seen this before? Oh yeah the GB!

Watch Out - Satan is watching you!
by usualusername inas a witness eepcially during my teens - early twenties i believed that satan was watching me for my weaknesses.. .
this gave me a mild form of paranoia.. .
do you believe satan was watching you?.

I worried more about the voyeuristic perv jayhoover than satan.
My reasoning use to be: the bible said satan leaves you alone sometimes but Jayhoover doesn't; the creep probes your mind, sees you naked and watches you all the time.
Once I realized the bible was a crock, the fear stopped.

Memorial partakers this year?
by punkofnice inwill there be over 12k 'partakers'(tm) this year?.
won't the wbt$ publish the amount of 'partakers'(tm) of the vinegar and crackers this year given that they stated this in qfr watchtower 15th august 2011 page 22 ????
(wow!

The WTBT$ is all about statistics and numbers, it's bullshit they don't know how many partakers there are.
They’re just leading you to believe this lie so you'll stop asking, or thinking it matters. Why?
It’s extremely damaging and they need to hide it!

How did/does your congregation view going out to eat AFTER the Memorial?
by OneDayillBeFree infor us it used to be a big no-no, but i think it has slowly grown more acceptable since many of our elders would be starving during the whole reject jesus party.... i always thought it was a bit funny when i saw brothers and sisters almost celebrating with a big feast and drinks on the night that the good ol' messiah sacrificed himself for all humankind!
it seems now more recently that since it is the only thing witnessess can celebrate, they go all out!
maybe i'll join in the festivities too.. so what about you guys?

I know in my sisters conned-green-nation they always do something afterwards.
Here where I'm at, nothing.
Not that anyone is against it per say, but I think they don't want anyone to enjoy anything.
Like fun Nazis: NO FUN FOR YOU!

Question for Dogpatch (Randy): What will it cost to produce the new 16-page Watchtower & Awake?
by Alfred inwhen literature used to be sold d2d, i remember how the society never missed an opportunity to trash other religions for "peddling god's word for profit" while boasting about how the watchtower only charges for the cost of the paper and ink.. in the book "witnesses of jehovah", the author mentioned that randall watters used to be involved in print cost analysis and determined that, while we were selling wt & awake mags for 20 cents door-to-door, it was really only costing the society 4 cents per copy to produce.
that's a whopping 400% profit!.
obviously, things have changed... the paper is different, as well as the ink and printing methods in general.

32-page magazine = more beth-hell-ites to house and feed.
16-page magazine = ex-beth-hell-ites having more time to peddle litter-a-turd.
Cost may minutely change but income/profit will grow.

End of the Preaching Work?
by Slidin Fast inthere is a rumour (from someone who should know better) that members of the gb are going round saying that the preaching work is accomplished.
this comes from a seniour elder and i therefore take it a bit more seriously than some sources.. if this is true then it kinda links in with the reduction of the half awake and the watch slightly-higher-mound-look-out magazines.. has any one else heard anything?.
-
Disillusioned Lost-Lamb
They only say these things to keep R&F thinking the end is night and the preaching work is actually accomplishing something.
I've heard multiple times that Matt. 24:14 has been fulfilled. Really? The "good news" has been preached in all the inhabited earth? I think not.
There are millions around the world who have never heard of the witlesses, and even more who have no idea what they believe; when it comes to religions they’re barely a blip on the radar.
So how can you say you’ve finished an informational campaign when no one knows who you are?
